There are a few reasons why you might be seeing brown patches in your lawn.
The most common reason is draught damage due to irrigation issues like broken sprinkler heads or not enough watering time. This is very common during warmer months. A common characteristic of turf that is experiencing draught is vertical folding of the leaf blade.
During cooler months it is possible that brown patches are due to a fungus called “Brown Patch.” We include fungicide treatments with our lawn programs. An easy way to identify this issue is if a blade of grass is easily removed from the stem with the entire blade intact versus the blade tearing.
In some cases, brown patches are due to cinch bugs. If you are on our lawn program cinch bugs are unlikely due to the products we routinely use on your lawn.

Pantry beetles are a group of tiny insects that infest and damage stored food products. These pests can include various species including Indian meal moth, sawtoothed grain beetle, and cigarette beetle. Chemical control is unnecessary. You must find their food source and dispose of affected items. Store all food items such as pastas, rice and flour in airtight containers or resealable bags to prevent pantry beetles from accessing them in the future.
